TRUSSVILLE — Jim Searcy, the executive director of the Economic Development Association of Alabama, spoke to the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce last Thursday at the Trussville Civic Center.
Searcy spoke about the positive impact the automotive industry has had on the state of Alabama. Because of that positive impact, many other companies are moving or have moved their operations to Alabama. Airbus, for example, has invested $600 million in its new facility, which should be completed in 2015.
The chamber also recognized Edward Ballard, of Office Depot in Trussville, as its June Customer Service Award recipient.
Newly elected State House District 44 Rep. Danny Garrett, of Trussville, will speak at the chamber’s luncheon July 17 at the Trussville Civic Center.
