PINSON — A Pinson man is in Jefferson County Jail after authorities said neighbors of a home he was burglarizing stopped him in the act.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were called to a report of a burglary in progress Sunday at 9:15 a.m. at a vacant home in the 5000 block of Gold Leaf Lane near Pinson. Deputies arrived at the home to find an off-duty Tarrant police officer and another neighbor holding the suspect at gunpoint, said Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian.

Christian said that deputies learned that one neighbor had seen the suspect pull up to the home and run to the rear. The suspect could be seen inside the house going from room to room. The neighbor alerted another, who is a Tarrant police officer, and the two men stopped the suspect as he was exiting the house through the front door.
The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Noah Carter of Pinson. He was charged with third-degree burglary and placed in the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $8,000.
