TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School softball team last week beat Thompson 8-1 to win the Metro Championship.
Hayden Neugent was named the most valuable player. Hannah Borden and Kaitlyn McDaniel were named to the all-tournament team.

Other team members include Abigail Inman, Natalie Ritchey, Ashley Cash, Katelyn Goodwin, Ashley Dorn, Sarah Rushing, Rachel Riley, Emily McDowell, Kailey Walters, Kelsey Lange, Molly Cobb, Lauryn Tarver, Mackenzie Hollier and Susanne Bouler.
The team is coached by Jim Bailes and Jake Garrett.
