TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville varsity softball team posted a 3-1 record over the weekend at the Shelby County Showdown.
The Lady Huskies lost 5-2 on Friday to Class 6A No. 1 Sparkman 5-2. Hewitt-Trussville then beat Robertsdale 6-5, defeated Class 5A No. 10 Athens 10-1 and trounced Class 4A No. 6 West Blocton 15-0.
Callie Shields pitched in all four games and is now 17-7 this season.
For the tournament, senior Kristen Bittle was 5-for-8 with seven runs batted in. Leigh McAnally was 6-for-8 with five RBIs. Junior Taylor Beshears was 10-for-12 and junior Amber Hammonds was 4-for-9 with two stolen bases.
Hewitt-Trussville is now 24-12 this season.
