TRUSSVILLE – The National Weather Service in Birmingham has forecast more rain and thunderstorms for the local area overnight Friday and into Saturday morning. The inclement weather should reach the local area after 1 a.m.
Heavy rain and storms were entering Northwest Mississippi at 7:30 p.m. CDT on Friday which have caused Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Flood Watches to be issued in Arkansas. Most of Mississippi is under watches for the same concerns.
Here is the local forecast from the NWS.
- Friday Night -A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 4 a.m. Low around 58. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
- Saturday -Showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 a.m, and 1 p.m. High near 67. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
