TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville senior Veronica Lyle finished in fifth place in the 800-meter run over the weekend at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York City.
Lyle’s finish, in 2:10.52, earned her All-American status.

Lyle last month signed her national letter of intent to run at Alabama.
Lyle earlier this year won the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs in the Class 6A indoor track state championship. She will likely be a middle distance runner in college.
