TRUSSVILLE — Two Trussville women have published a pictorial history of the city of Trussville.
“Trussville,” part of Arcadia Publishing’s “Images of America” series, features more than 200 historic images. Local authors/writers June Mathews and Sandra Bearden compiled the work.
“While this pictorial history touches on the distant past and the present, it focuses on the middle of the 20th century, which set the pattern for what Trussville is today,” the authors said in a press release.
The 128-page book is available March 3 at bookstores, independent retailers and online retailers.
Mathews and Bearden are both members of the Trussville Historical Society. Mathews is a regular contributor to The Trussville Tribune, on the board of trustees at the Trussville Public Library and is board president of the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce. Bearden has been a reporter for the Birmingham Post-Herald, a writer/editor at BellSouth and a journalism instructor at Samford University.
