PINSON — Lauren Keplinger struck out eight Leeds batters to earn the win and also went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run to lead Pinson Valley to a 9-7 season opening win over Leeds on Tuesday.
Keplinger hit a triple and single, and finished with four runs batted in.
Emmie Waldrop was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Destinee Cole was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Dallas Payton was 2-for-3 with a stolen base.
Pinson Valley travels to Southside-Gadsden on Thursday for a 5 p.m. game.
