CLAY — The Clay-Chalkville varsity basketball teams rolled Friday and Saturday, sweeping Buckhorn and Gardendale.
On Friday, the varsity girls beat Buckhorn 72-52. Junior point guard Kristian Hudson scored 30 points and senior guard Bria Bethea added 21. Freshman Raven Omar chipped in with seven points.
The Clay-Chalkville boys on Friday beat Buckhorn 56-47. Junior point guard Hasan Abdullah scored 12 points and junior Martin Reed chipped in with nine points.
On Saturday, the Clay-Chalkville girls won their eighth straight game with an 81-42 blowout victory over Gardendale. Hudson scored 35 points for the Lady Cougars (13-3).
The Clay-Chalkville varsity boys beat Gardendale on Saturday 59-48. The Cougars (10-5) were led by juniors Sean Burrell and Kenneth Cotton with 11 points. Senior Brian Clark scored 10 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Abdullah handed out 11 assists.
