TRUSSVILLE — Prizes and award winners have been announced from competitions at last week’s Trussville Christmas Parade.
The first-place winner of the best float competition went to Sav-a-Life East, which was awarded $100. Supercuts won second place and $75, and ACTA Theatre took third place and won $50.
Grand Marshals in this year’s parade were Gavin Slay, Connor Staggs, and Sean Williamson, Hewitt-Trussville High School’s first-ever National Merit semi-finalists. Brinkley Rackstraw, 12, sang a rendition of “O, Holy Night,” just before all joined in the countdown for the tree lighting.
Winners of the Photogenic Contest were also announced. Miss Tiny Merry Christmas was won by Renlee Jones and the first alternate was Sydney Milligan.
Master Tiny Merry Christmas was won by Liam Morgan and her first alternate was Vinny Amari. Celia Morgan was named Miss Little Merry Christmas, and her first alternate was Ava Price.
Master Little Merry Christmas was won by Owen Milligan and her first alternate was Brody Bearden. Miss Young Merry Christmas was won by Sarah Hindman and her first alternate was Kaleigh Wideman.
Miss Merry Christmas was won by Abby Simmons, and her first alternate was Maddelin Haynes.
