The victim in Sunday’s three-vehicle traffic accident on Chalkville Mountain Road has been identified.
Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates identified the victim as Gewanda Faye Farley, 54, of Center Point.
Yates said Farley was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:57 p.m. Sunday.
Five others were injured in the crash near Galloway Drive.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a Ford Taurus was traveling west on Chalkville Mountain Road when it crossed the center line and collided with a GMC Sierra pickup truck. The truck then collided with an SUV. Farley was the driver of the Taurus.
The driver and a child in the pickup truck suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
The driver and two children in the SUV also suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
The accident remains under investigation.
