Clay-Chalkville remains No. 2 in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A rankings.
The Cougars (3-0, 2-0 Class 6A, Region 7) garnered two first-place votes, behind just Hoover in Class 6A, which gained 31 first-place votes. Rounding out the Class 6A top 10 are McGill-Toolen, Opelika, Tuscaloosa County, Carver-Montgomery, Vestavia Hills, Bob Jones, Auburn and Smiths Station.
Pell City, who Clay-Chalkville faces on the road Friday, received one vote for top 10 consideration.
Neither Hewitt-Trussville nor Pinson Valley received votes for top 10 consideration in Class 6A and Class 5A, respectively.
