The No. 2 Hewitt-Trussville varsity girls cross country team is off to a fast start.
The Lady Huskies over the weekend raced to a team win at the Scottsboro Invitational, besting 19 other teams, including No. 1 Mountain Brook, which finished fifth.
Lawrence County finished second, followed by Montgomery Academy, Bob Jones, Mountain Brook, Scottsboro, Fort Payne, Oxford, Buckhorn and Cullman.
Hewitt-Trussville’s Veronica Lyle won the individual 5K race, Alexandria Pidcock finished third and Lauren Smith finished 14th.

The No. 7 Hewitt-Trussville varsity boys cross country team finished third out of 21 teams at the Scottsboro Invitational, placing behind Mountain Brook and Scottsboro. Austin Norwood was Hewitt-Trussville’s top individual finisher in the 5K, finishing 14th. See complete results here.
