A 23-year-old Trussville man is dead after a Tuesday crash on Chalkville Mountain Road.
Jeffery Tyler Harris of Trussville died on the scene, on Chalkville Mountain Road near J R Drive.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian said just after midnight Tuesday deputies responded to a traffic accident with injuries in the Grayson Valley area. 
The crash involved a pickup truck and small car. Harris was the driver of a 2006 Hyundai. Christian said the investigation revealed that Harris had crossed the center line and collided head on with a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche.
The driver of the Avalanche sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was treated and released from a local hospital
