A group of families local to the Trussville area have come together to form Families Against Cancer of Trussville, for the purpose of making a difference in the lives of friends and neighbors touched by cancer.
They are raising money to help these families who have medical bills piling up and can no longer work due to being in and out of the hospital for treatment.
FACT is selling the larger, smoked, Boston butts from Smokology, a Trussville-based cook team, for each, or with a special homemade barbecue sauce and buns to complete the meal for .
They will be taking orders all week long via phone (call or text 205-862-4949) and email (familiesagainstcancer@gmail.com), and handing out the butts on site Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the baseball park inside the Trussville Sports Complex off Cherokee Drive
. They will be at the gate between the 9/10-year-old fields and the 11/12-year-old fields.
All proceeds will go to these local families touched by cancer.
