The Pilgrim’s Rest subdivision in Trussville will hold a one-year anniversary block party to commemorate the Jan. 23, 2012, tornado on Jan. 19.
The block party will last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m
. at the home of Pete and Sherri Blank on Jonathans Way.
The community has invited all residents and former residents who moved on after the tornado to come together and reflect on the tornado.

Members of the Trussville Fire and Rescue teams that helped Jan. 23 and in the days after the tornado will also attend.
At least 65 people have confirmed attendance so far, Sherri Blank said.
